Hiya! I’m new to tallow & ash and I’ve yet to order…. Purely because I love the idea of the samples but I wish you did a sample range or ALL your different scents.

If anyone else is super indecisive like me but also doesn’t want to spend a fortune initially buying the odd ones that sound amazing but aren’t in the sample bundle, this would be a great initial purchase for customers to find their most loved scents right off the bat!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed!!

I bought a spray and absolutely HATE it. It leaves a greasy slippery film on fabrics. I can’t stand the smell and wherever the mist landed has had to be washed. It’s horrible. Glad I didn’t buy anything else as the sample smells like weak cordial too, hardly a complex fragrance!

How about something to to put laundry liquid directly into the machine and not the drawer?

So many things….!

1. A few months ago you put out a mood board for a list of new potential scents for the range, and I saw so many comments about the Lemon Tree scent! And I have to admit to feeling quite sad that you released two very similar looking scents, both look quite masculine and heavy Middle-Eastern, dense pungent scents. You already have a few very musky heavy scents, few that felt fresh like I’d imagine the Lemon Tree scent to be. If you’re not releasing it, it would be great if you could release an update on what isn’t going to be created as I’m sure I’m not alone in holding out for a lemon scented range or a citrus fragranced range. I would have thought something like a citrus scent would have lent itself to the spring or summer but with you guys releasing heavier scents instead I’m guessing you’ve gone down the masuline/heavy route and this is going to leave many of us behind :’(

2. The powder has no scoop :( I currently shake the powder into my detergent draw, it would be great if they included a spoon or at least the first one you ordered contained a spoon.

3. It would be great for subscribers if you could have a list of “don’t send me this!” scents. I saw you going in to Tesco and maxed out on the scents I liked that they have. I also know from the samples as well as the stock at Tesco which scents I don’t like. It would be great if you had a tick box for scents we have in bulk and don’t need any more of and maybe scents or ranges you really know you won’t like (eg oud or sandlewood…)

4. If you have a way to offer a scratch and sniff card for the sprays, I’d love to know what the Rain Moss scent was like but I’m too worried about it being a very masculine heavy scent. The descriptions are lost on me, I know for example I hate pachouilli but I also know I really like Date Night. The descriptions of your scents do not help, having the ability to smell first would really help.

5. More (or all) of the scents to be available at Tesco, and the sprays to be at Tesco too please!

6. Refills for the sprays (if they ever do run out…) Maybe with the idea that you save money on a refill.

7. Candles around Christmas time could be great.

8. I love your fabric sprays, but could you make an ironing spray and an ironing water? I made the mistake of using your sprays on some woollen clothes and then ironing, and it’s made a sort of waxy finish and I got a fishy scent which was a shame as I then had to wash off the scent and start again, this time without the spray. I think this is just the way oils work with a very hot iron. If you could create a product which works with heat and where the heat doesn’t break down the scent or turn it rancid this would be amazing- especially if you had something like a crease-relese spray and an ironing water or something we could put (drops) into de-ionised water which is suitable for an iron (normal water causes limescale to form). It would need to be without oils though as another thing? I now can’t get the oily film out of the wool (cashmere!) I have as it can’t be washed on a high heat, obviously and I have to be careful about what I wash with- the shampoo and conditioners you make don’t remove the oily film unless the heat is up.

9. You have collections which have a discount if you buy the collection. But the collections are usually things I know I won’t like and won’t use. I’d love to be able to put together my own collection (eg fabric wash, fabric conditoner and spray) and get a discount which is similar to the regular collections you already have.

10. More perfume or “smells similar to” on all your scents. These are the most useful in describing. I was interested in the pistachio but when I saw it was described as being similiar to De Janiero, I soon backed off. Then by chance ordered a load of samples, the pistachio being one of them and thought I’d try…exactly bang on with that description and very much not something I liked at all! (But the cocoa kisses scent was gorgous.

I’d love a woody /patchouli based scent … inspiration Tempo by Diptyque, or L’air de Rien by Miller Harris.

Candles or room fragrance – yes please!

To those that want floor cleaner …why not add a capful or two of laundry shampoo to your mop bucket … cleans beautifully and smells amazing!
