What do you guys think of this Refill Pouch recycle system!? ♻️
When we showed you our refill pouch concept back in August, we had this great comment from Stacey Smith suggesting a system where the empty pouches could be sent back to us to be refilled and reused!
We absolutely loved this idea, as keeping Tallow + Ash as planet-friendly as possible is super important to us. Our initial thoughts are to create a system where once you’ve used 6 refill pouches or more, you can package them up and send them back to our warehouse so they can be reused or recycled correctly. And then as a thank you from us to you, we’ll gift you a free Laundry Shampoo + Conditioner set of your choice!
We want to make this process as easy as possible for you so we’re looking at getting some pre-paid return labels sorted before we get this system up and running but would love to hear your feedback first!
Thank you as always for being a part of developing this brand with us! 💜

This is essential, I love the products but my conscience is telling me that I need to go back to my previous products with sustainable packaging where returns were genuinely reused. your packaging is almost impossible to recycle. And reuse not recycle is soooooo much more sustainable. When do you think you will put this in place. I don’t even care about the free products but I understand incentives will be necessary for some people to engage….

Yeah, I agree with all the other comments. I think it’s a massive oversight to have not baked this process in from the start. Particularly when recycling and reusing has become simply a hygiene factor for customers choosing independent brands. I love the product, but it feels shocking to just throw away pouches when they’re empty. Bower Collective built their business around a return, refill, repeat model and they’ve been doing it successfully for about six years. So it’s quite telling that your original post was 17 November 2023 and nothing’s changed since then. I’m afraid you’ve just lost an otherwise supportive customer. And best not apply to Dragon’s Den for additional support. I think Deborah Meaden might well give you some very frank and forthright ‘feedback’.

I’ve just recently ordered my first refill pouches from you as my selection of plastic bottles is taking up a lot of room under my sink and I like to keep bottles for each of my favourite scents but use the pouches to refill them. I had assumed the pouches could be recycled either by returning them to you or through a supermarket soft plastics recycling point. I feel you need to address this ASAP as it is likely to affect ongoing sales.

Do you have any update on the recycling scheme for pouches please?
Definitely think this is the way for T & A to go in terms of sustainability and a rewards scheme would be great.
