At Tallow+Ash, around 75% of our team and 90% of our amazing customers are women. 🥰 So celebrating and empowering women is incredibly important to us, not just in the workplace, but in everyday life too, supporting each other, celebrating achievements, and sharing stories about the women in our lives who inspire us every day.

My mum deserves to be celebrated this IWD. She has single handledly raised me and my 3 siblings, after a very traumatic childhood. She makes sure she does everything she can for me and my little siblings. She also lost her mum a few years ago, that’s when she started volunteering at our local community centre. She helps homeless and locals and feeds them. She works with many charities and food banks and is much loved by our community. She truly is selfless, she never does much for herself, only others. I want her to feel appreciated

My wonderful friend Carmel who I’ve known for 40 years – she was an inspiring nursing colleague and always supported me and my practice, ran several teams, raised 2 children, kept her family , studied and still had time for kind words. She went to parliament to speak about care for the elderly. During Covid we both had nursing challenges. I think she deserves a prize and what better than tallow and ash that smells wonderful, is gentle but thorough- just like her.

My best friend Nadia is the kind of woman who somehow manages to be hilarious, stunning, compassionate, and an absolute powerhouse all at the same time. She’s the most hardworking person I know and pours her whole heart into creating the best life possible for her wonderful daughter, Evangeline — who is growing up with the most incredible role model. Nadia is the sort of friend who will make you laugh until you cry, hype you up when you need it most, and somehow still remember to message you back between doing a million things at once. She’s genuinely inspirational… and also personally responsible for dragging me out of the dull, grey world of basic supermarket laundry detergent and introducing me to the joy that is Tallow & Ash. Honestly, my clothes (and my life) have never smelled better. Happy International Women’s Day to the woman who proves you really can do it all — and make it look effortless while you’re at it. 💛
