As we get ready to welcome another little girl into our family, I've found myself thinking a lot about those early days after having Aria.

I'm definitely no expert, and every baby and parent is different, but there are a few things that really helped me through that season. Nothing groundbreaking, just little things that made life feel a bit easier! So I thought I'd share them in case they're helpful to someone else 💜

1. Do something that's just for you
When I first became a mum, everything quite rightly became about the baby, and I stopped doing the little things that made me feel like me. For me, something as simple as getting a blow dry made me feel amazing. It could be a coffee on your own, a walk, seeing a friend, buying a new jumper, or having a bath without being interrupted. Whatever it is, don't feel guilty for taking a bit of time for yourself! It will only make you better for your family 😁.

2. Stop comparing yourself to your old life
Before Aria, I could work whenever I wanted, exercise whenever I wanted, and pretty much do whatever I wanted. So I spent a lot of time frustrated that I couldn't fit everything in like I used to. But eventually I realised that having less time isn't always a bad thing. It forced me to prioritise what really matters and be more intentional with my time 🙌

3. Let people help
I felt like I should be able to manage it all myself! But the moment I started accepting help, things felt a little better. Whether it's family, friends, your partner, nursery staff, neighbours, or anyone else around you, let people support you when they offer. It really does take a village!

4. Prep food where you can
One of the best things I did when Aria started weaning was making frozen food cubes. I'd spend an hour blending vegetables, freezing them into portions, and suddenly I'd have meals ready for weeks. On the days I was exhausted, having those in the freezer was such a relief!

If you're a parent, I'd love to hear what helped you that you’d add to the list ☺️🫶

Oh WOW!! Congratulations to you and your family. Such amazing and beautiful news that I really needed to hear at the moment as I am sadly dealing with the loss of my 85 year old father in law who passed last week. Little Miracle was my comfort when I was in the hospital with the family as I had washed handkerchiefs in it just before we had to rush to the hospital. For the weekend that we spent at his bedside crying and comforting each other, Little Miracle gave me so much love and comfort while we were talking and reliving funny memories and hearing stories about my father in law with my 2 children and how gentle and loving he was as a grandad to all of his grandchildren and his great granddaughter. I know I will have Little Miracle with me and comforting me when we lay him to rest later this month. Sorry to have added some sad news onto your good news but I just wanted you to see that Little Miracle really is a little Miracle and can bring so much love and familiarity to you, no matter what life has thrown at you. Congratulations to you again and here is to a safe confinement and pleasurable easy and safe birth. Lots of love to you all and Aria is absolutely beautiful and brought a smile to my face 🩷🩷 xxx

Congratulations! I sadly suffered 3 miscarriages, so my daughter is an only child. Talking about it is the best thing to get through it. So happy for your growing family 🩷🩷

Congratulations! I bought Little Miracle just before delivering my son. It brings me so much joy as a new mum. Sometimes when I’m feeling tired, I breathe in the scent of the baby clothes and it boosts my mood a little. It’s truly the little things that help me get through the hard days.
