Not every scent makes it out of the Laundry Lab 😂
Some were beautiful but didn’t quite feel like us. Some were almost there… but just needed more work. And some we still secretly love 🫣
Here are 5 scents that never made it into the Tallow + Ash range - and why:
1. Honey, I'm Home 🍯
A beautiful honey scent... but it felt a little too homey. We had a much bigger vision for a honey fragrance, and knew there was more we wanted to do with it. 
2. Apple Of My Eye 🍂
A warm, beautiful twist on Little Miracle, created especially for autumn. But when we tested it, we realised we loved that gorgeous newborn scent so much that we didn’t want to mess with it.
3. Morning Person 🥒
Crisp cucumber, fresh mint and that just-showered, energised feeling of an early morning. We thought it would be perfect for gymwear and towels and brining that fresh feeling into your everyday… but it never quite made the cut.
4. Banana Bread 🍌
Warm, sweet and ridiculously cosy. Basically the smell of a slow morning with banana bread baking in the oven. We loved it… but we weren't quite sure where it fit in the range.
5. Strawberry Matcha 🍓🍵
We really wanted this one to work. We loved the scent, but it just didn’t have enough impact once it was on the laundry.
And that’s probably the biggest lesson from creating fragrances: If it doesn't smell amazing on your clothes, it doesn't make the cut.
We'd rather keep experimenting until we create something we're genuinely obsessed with 💜

Apple of my eye and banana bread would be so amazing this time of year! Looked everywhere for an autumn scent to wash my autumn bedding in and can’t find anything :( Please bring these out! Would love them :)
Wow! These all sound amazing. I have far too many favourites. Love all your fragrances … lovely to be already spoilt for choice, sometimes I dither about on what one to use … so more fragrances, my washing machine will be continually going 24/7 🤣

Do you provide free samples please of your laundry shampoo and conditioner fragrances. I am choosy about the fragrance and want to get the right one.
Morning Person sounds energizing and right up my alley for a refreshing morning and Strawberry Matcha sounds wholesome and comforting. I agree with having them as limited editions or a set, or even a poll to see which one to try every few months. Just a suggestion. 😊
I can see why you did not launch. I’m allergic to strawberries so I would not want the strawberry. I love bananas but sometimes it can smell funny to people who don’t love bananas. Cucumber melon is a good scent, could have been popular. Apple isn’t for everyone either but I agree with another comment that maybe smaller versions of these could be sold as a set? Just so people could try. Or perhaps you could put them all in a limited edition set. I probably would be interested in purchasing one or two of these myself.
All those scents sound fantastic. I think you should do a limited edition of the set just to see how it goes. I think these sound better than a lot sold en mass. I’ll be happy to buy any you have in stock.

I love that you are looking for new scents. My fav is Oud. But sometime I am craving that fresh cut grass just after a heavy rain scent that says. clean and new beginnings. Pulling at those negative ions and a touch of citrus and camomile. just a thought😊

I would try all of them but would probably like the Morning Person best. Followed by Strawberry Matcha, Honey I’m home, Banana Bread then Apple of my eye last.

Love the sound of honey im home. Could you still use that kind of theme for a cozy home kind of vibe. A scent which reminds me of that is the home sweet home that Yankee candle do. I know you probably get so many ideas already. I think someone else also said this and it seems like a good idea from our pov, could you do samples of scents your trying?

Honey I’m Home would be the one for me, but I admit I love a deep and heady honey, so in my dreams I’d want that to be an almost leathery, muscavado sugar kind of honey, with some clover and beeswax scent to soften it. Not asking for much, am I? 😉
I requested from Tallow+Ash gym line what deals with funky gym kit smells and sweat. Some fragrances only trap the smell and when you exercise after couple of minutes you get this weird smell. Natural fabrics are ok, it’s the polyester ones what are terrible. It’s not enough to use regular line it has to be specifically designed for that purpose. Any chance for that soon?

Release them all they will sell out over night or a week atleast new exquisite scent will push your business even further and bring back celestial if possible but what would sell fast is the new scent laundry shampoo and conditioner in a fabric spray also many thanks everyone who ive supplied with the shampoo and Conditioner with fabric spray have rated them highly I also have them personally great job tallow and ash marketing and management and smooth easy purchasing and website layout great job your greatest going being chemical free and all natural me being allergic to most laundry stuff this company out shines them all greatness already made it 😀
I’d go for Honey I’m Home or Morning Person. Currently using Icing on the Cake with Celestial waiting to be used. My washing machine self-determines how much shampoo to use from a filled drawer so I can only use one fragrance until it’s empty in the drawer. When are the tumble dryer sheets being launched? I Currently spray Aurora on washing in the tumble dryer.

Banana bread 🍌 would be mym choice. Like you cant beat the smell of baking when you enter a house, it would be warm & enticing as a laundry fragrance👚.

Oooo if the honey I’m home has a strong vanilla accent then I’m in!! Would happily rotate it with the mighty Icing On The Cake especially since you’re discontinuing my other fave Cocoa Butter Kisses 😭 as I don’t really like flowery nor citrusy fragrances, I’m all about the gourmand, comforting, bakery scents. P.S when are we getting the mighty IOTC dryer sheets also could you switch up the vanilla elixir to just be a gloriously concentrated dark bakery vanilla – think The Body Shop vanilla perfume oil of the 90’s!
For me the fresh scent of Morning person sounds so fresh and clean and the scent Banana bread sounds like a welcome home hug, warm cosy and welcoming both sound amazing
The refreshing cucumber and mint would have been a hit with me – how about a product on the lines of a Hugo spritz; cucumber, mint, lemon and possibly elderflower…. not keen on sickly sweet smelling laundry, so personally wouldn’t have opted for the strawberry, honey or banana bread themed products, all a bit too cakey smelling, so get why they didn’t make the cut :)
Absolutely loved the limited edition apple scented range that another company made hen Wicked 2 was released. I bought 20 of the conditioner & washing liquid.
So my heart got all excited when I saw you’d looked at an apple range, go on you know you really want to 🥰
I would order all of these. Fruit and bakery scents are my go to for beauty and cleaning products, that’s why I love Icing on the Cake.

They all sound irresistible. However I like that you have kept true to your brand and never lost sight of that. Apple Of My Eye & Strawberry Matcha intrigue me the most 🍏🍓 Fruity and refreshing!

Strawberry Matcha or Banana Bread. I love a fruity smell, but too much stuff these days relies on vanilla. I’m not keen on that. However, I love the fresh smells too, like the ones in Morning Person.

Oh wow…I would love the apple twist on little miracle as tbh I’m not keen on the current, it’s too soapy for me so have gone with a competing non toxic brand brand for my baby’s clothes :(
and for me I would LOVE banana bread for autumn – amazing idea and strawberry matcha for spring. I Would buy all three in a heartbeat. And that pale pink bottle on the shelf- to die for!
I feel you def need more fruity scents as I feel these are also suitable for children which I feel you’re missing the mark. I use pistachio for my 5 year old. you’re quite musk heavy which can be overpowering especially for kids clothes. Please release some samples would LOVE to try!!!

Knowing me, I’d have tried them all! But the most exciting one would have been strawberry matcha. That sounds Devine! Apple of my eye would definitely be a contender for autumn for my little girls clothes. Spooky Season just doesn’t seem quite right in her stuff, it’s too strong. I use it on everything else though!

To be honest I like the sound of Morning Person. At first I thought it was going to be about that first morning dew but when I read about cucumber and the mint together, I thought, ooh yes. I think it could be something that an elixir could throw out as a totally different scent depending on which one we felt like using. What’s wrong with making up a small batch in a bland bottle so as to save on printing and see how the customers feel as I would even give it a try. A nice spritz of mint on the washing line may be just that different scent that people want 🤔🤔. Just a thought 💜💜💜 xxx

I’m an avid gym-goer and often want a an impactful scent to freshen my gym gear. Please consider a ‘gym friendly’ targeted scent.
I’m also after a lavender scented detergent and fabric spray to help me relax at night.

Morning person! Why: I’m struggling to find a true unisex fragrance in your collection that works for me and my husband’s laundry. I’m not separating our laundry, so I need a fragrance that works for both of us. Only Santal fills that need. We absolutely adore Santal, but I would love to add something a little bit fresher for summer.

(FYI I hate the colour scheme on the Honey I’m Home packaging. Yellow-on-blue? Yikes! You should try warm brown text on warm yellow, or white text on burnt ochre.)
Just wish you’d put as much work into your packaging. I swore off plastic and was doing well with other non-plastic brands but got lured in by your scents and now I’ve got a bin full of plastic again. I buy refills but sprays dont have refills or the elixirs..

The Gap brought out a Cut Grass fragrance in the 90’s and it’s still going strong in the US – would be a lovely scent. Celestial has become an absolute firm favourite of mine – my teenager is quite fussy about smells but absolutely insists on me using it! Only one bottle left and so wish you had done a scent spray with it- if it comes back am definitely buying a bundle of it! Cocoa kisses and Golden Oud are next in line but would’ve definitely tried the Cucumber and Mint.
Agree with someone else above. Country Club was a fab fragrance. I only use Duvet Day and Odyssey currently as the rest are too wishy washy and don’t stay on the laundry. They’re nice but just not strong enough.
I like the sound of banana bread. It reminds me when I was in a country cottage on holiday where we actually made bread.

Every prefume or body wash etc I ever purchase is with the sole purpose of smelling like a baked good so absolutely NEEEED the above like yesterday
I can see why all of them didn’t quite stack up against the rest of the range.
Personally, I’m still counting down the days until Bahama Vibes gets reinstated to the lineup!
Summer Fling is a nice, juicy, fruity scent, but it’s not a patch on the tropical vibes of BV and, for me, really lacks the scent longevity on my clothes!

Oh, blimey. Where do you start? Umm, as lovely as Banana bread sounds, I’m not sure if I’d want it on my clothes. Agree with Little Miracle; why mess with something so beautiful? Strawberry Matcha doesn’t do anything for me. Not a fan of strawberry scents in general. So, I would probably go with ‘Morning Person’. If you need another nose to help choose, I’m always available!!!
Honey im home gives a vintage feel not just the presentation or wording also the idea of the scent.
Vintage colours and styles are currently trending with a modern twist .
Think this may work well at this time .

I bet some of them were yummy scents, but they feel a bit twee compared to the sophistication of Oud or Odyssey.
For me, the more gourmand fragrances are a fun novelty but never seem to make it to my regular laundry rotation. Kinda surprising as I love gourmand perfumes!
I loved country club it smelt expensive and lasted well on clothes, I’m struggling with finding one I truly love at the minute. I want my clothes to smell good with a long lasting scent and I’m not getting that at the minute sadly. 😣

I’ve tried lots but today, Duvet Day has literally changed my life!!!! Insanely good!!
I’m never quite sure how well it actually cleans so only use it on very lightly soiled laundry. Otherwise I stick with the serious ( Bio ) stuff for towels and bed linens. Perhaps show some proof it’s more than just beautiful packaging and lovely scents???

I quite like the idea of the morning scent, love cucumber/ mint/aloe Vera or elderflower in shower gels for a clean summer vibe.

I personally don’t like banana bread, so I can see why it hasn’t been released. I think there are some scents that just wouldn’t smell great as washing shampoo and conditioner.
