My incredible warrior of a mum deserves at least some beautifully smelling washing!
This time last year we were celebrating Mother’s Day together with my equally incredible step-dad. After a long, difficult summer spent lovingly caring for him as he became terminally ill far too quickly, she is now learning to navigate life without the love of her life.
Even through all of that, she continues to show unbelievable strength and grace. She’s coping so well, while still being there for me and supporting me with my young family, just as she always has.
Her whole world was turned upside down, yet she continues to give so much love to everyone around her. She truly deserves the world, and I will never be able to fully express just how grateful I am to have her as my mum. 🤍

Today, on International Women’s Day, I choose myself.

This past year has been one of the most challenging of my life. A breast cancer diagnosis changed everything, and the journey since then has not been easy. I am still navigating the aftermath — the physical and emotional recovery, the realities of forced menopause, and the quiet battles that many people never see.

But today is not only about what I’ve endured. It’s about recognizing the strength it has taken to keep going.

So today I celebrate myself as a special woman — not because the journey has been perfect, but because I have faced it with courage, resilience, and determination. I honour the strength in my body, the perseverance in my spirit, and the hope that continues to carry me forward.

Today, I choose to be proud of how far I have come. I choose compassion for myself on the hard days. And most importantly, I choose myself.

Happy International Women’s Day to me — and to every woman who keeps rising, even when the path is difficult.

My mum for sure! She’s a superstar that single handedly holds us all together. I don’t know what my siblings and I would do without her, honestly she’s our hero. Kind, loving and selfless, not just with us but even to complete strangers. She’s always giving to everyone and I’d love for her to get this. She LOVES odyssey the most.
