Oh wow I’d love to design my own scent. Mine would definitely have a similar vibe to oud, would love that with perhaps lavender & patchouli scent too.

I would go for a sparkly opening with mandarin and Elemi followed by orange blossom and a sandalwood finish.

Such a difficult choice if I’m being totally selfish and looking at a fragrance for myself only, I would choose a replication of Tom Ford’s Eau de Soleil Blanc for its vibrancy and aromatic crisp scent
Notes: Bergamot, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Pistachio, Amber and Cardamon
But if it was one that was to be suitable for everyone , then I would be looking for something that is fresh with the scent of the sea like the very popular Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel scent by Molton Brown.
