A new water bottle and someone else to sponsor me would make my week, never mind day. I’m running a mile a day to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Was supposed to be for the month of July but I had covid so couldn’t run for about 10 days, so I’m having to extend the time into August.

This isn’t a sob story or a “pick me” story… I want to start getting this off my chest & I thought no place better than a random website (not so random as I have ordered!) to complete strangers who don’t know me…

I’ve been going through a really tough time lately. My relationship broke down after putting up with years of not pleasant behaviour (involving police), my ex is taking me to court in regards to our daughter, he’s trying to stop me from moving, continuing his awful behaviour, I suffer with chronic stress-induced migraines & have recently been in hospital for a week with it… the pit feels bottomless right now. I feel like I’m failing as a mother & as a human in general.

I know it’s pathetic but one of the many things I was never allowed to do was use “girly” washing products or spend more than £5 on washing stuff. So even though we are still unfortunately living together I thought why not treat myself to this. So I did. It’s something so small to a lot of people but for me it’s something huge. I never thought I’d be so excited for detergent, softener & stain remover (sorry, shampoo, conditioner & stain reverser).

My daughter starts reception in September & I always pride myself on her clothes being pristine so I cannot wait to re-wash her new uniform with what I have coming. Again, I know it sounds stupid to most but to me it’s a huge step towards freedom after so many years of being so trapped.

If I was to ask for anything I would love to be able to treat my daughter for a day… like walking into a toy shop & getting her whatever she wanted or going to our local theme park without worrying about cost or even pushing the boat out to a day at the seaside. Between saving up to start my life again from scratch & no financial support from her father I can’t treat her as much as she deserves. She deserves the world. She is my world. & I wish I could give her that.
Unless your budget covers a little 2 bed flat that is. Because I could really do with that. But the whole treating my daughter thing is more important.

Sorry for the ramble, sorry for the spilling my guts on the internet. I want to start speaking out & being seen as the survivor I can be rather than the victim I am & have been.

This actually DID make my day – I took a pair of trousers to the dressmaker and she held them to her face and said ‘you use Tallow and Ash don’t you ?’ The word is getting around !

A double up on an order or being able to gift a duplicate of the order to family / friends would be a lovely idea.
