We’re developing some new fragrance concepts this week which got me looking back at some of the products we’ve created over the last few years. Not every idea became the bestseller I was very convinced it would… 😂 But every one taught us something! Here are 4 products we created that didn't work, and what we learnt from them.
1. Cocoa Butter Kisses
Every bit of market research told us that chocolate-scented laundry probably wouldn’t work...but you all loved the concept, so we decided to take the risk. What I learned is sometimes you have to take a risk and challenge the market research, and sometimes the market research might actually be worth listening to 😂

2. Candy Beach
It started strong and the fragrance itself had such lovely feedback – but the branding didn’t communicate the scent as clearly as it needed to. I learnt that creating a great fragrance is only half the job. The name, packaging and story around it can be just as important as the product itself.

3. Bahama Vibes
Coconut is familiar, summer-y and already loved in laundry - What could go wrong? 😂What I learnt is that familiarity can make a product easy to understand but being different is often what makes it memorable!
4. When Life Gives You Lemons
When we first released the concept, you loved the fragrance, the colour, the name - so we got to work bringing it to life! But bright, citrus-heavy fragrances can be more technically challenging when it comes to achieving the strength and longevity we expect in laundry. We loved the scent, but we wanted more longevity!

Bring back bahama vibes, it went to soon before I had a chance to get it. I had it in the discovery pack and preferred it to summer fling

Based off the comments on almost every blog post I think bahama vibes should come back and replace the other one that replaced it. I’ve used both an bahama vibes beats the other one

Bahamas Vibes was great and a long-lasting scent. I was sad to see it go, but Oud, Duvet Day and Country Club are my top favorites and I realized I should probably stick to a couple (or few) scents, rather than the six or seven I had going. 🤣 But each scent when launched is so enticing and none have disappointed, so one must try. I miss Country Club and I wish I could keep that as one of my three in rotation.

I seem to be one of those that love the things that didn’t work 😅 Candy beach – loved so much I kept buying it- I even nabbed some when you had the last remaining refills (I’m sure in a seasonal package) and I’ve kept one to savour it! Country club discontinued before I got to try the one I bought and I’m sad I can’t refill it – like nothing else! and Bahamas vibes had was my vibe, the whole set had pride of place in my collection – I have the last of my fabric spray which I’m going to depressed when it’s done!

I loved Bahamas Vibes, I’ve tried other scents but none of them were a patch on Bahamas Vibes, please, please bring it back!!!
