I would say both and let the purchaser choose, because both have good reasons and properties, but it then depends on the reason for using it and what’s needed. A spray is good for an individual stain, whereas a powder could be more generic or “clothes” with stains rather than an individual stain or item.

I prefer to just be able to add to machine, so happy to keep as powder

Yes please. Think I would use the spray more for targeting spill areas, however powder is handy for whitening.
