I’d nominate my mum cos she’s absolutely the best and she deserves the most on international women’s day AND every other day ❤️💪🏼

My youngest sister is the strongest person I know. She suffered losing her husband when her children were 11 and 6. She worked hard to give them a good life and taught them to have good manners and respect for others. Then the youngest of her children was killed age 17.. how she coped with this I will never know. Then three years ago she was diagnosed with with Lung cancer, had an op and is now hopefully in remission. Her life has always been hard but she doesn’t see it that way and is one of the most caring people I know, nothing is ever too much trouble if someone needs help.

This feels like a slightly odd way to mark International Women’s Day.
Celebrating women with a special edition bottle of laundry detergent feels a bit like reinforcing the very stereotypes the day is meant to challenge.
Because nothing says empowering women quite like reminding us about the washing.
“Happy International Women’s Day – now get the washing done!”

I’d love to celebrate my best friend this International Women’s Day. 💜
We’ve been best friends since school. She went off to university while I went straight into work, but no matter where life took us we always stayed close. We even did the thing everyone says not to do when you’re young — we moved in together! And honestly, it just proved how strong our friendship really is.
She empowers me every single day. We talk and text constantly, always supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Now I’ve even moved next door, so we get to have our little morning ritual — a cup of tea, a chat, and a biscuit together.
She’s the kind of friend everyone hopes to have in their life, and I’m so lucky to call her mine. 💕

Without a shadow of a doubt, my mom and my grandmother. Both have played a part in my life and made who I am today. Resilient and badass.
