I would love to gift my friend, Siofra. Her dad has gotten very sick very quickly, and it is a matter of days now. Even though its just laundry detergent, I know she loves it and I want her to know how much I care for her and am thinking about her.

wish to honour Katie and Pete — fearless renovators, unreasonable optimists, and dear friends — who made the brave (read: unhinged) decision to renovate both their kitchen and front room just three weeks before Christmas. A bold choice. A winter odyssey. A decision that has cast them, and their children Lonan and Ren, into a static caravan at Durdle Door like characters in a festive folktale set during the quiet apocalypse.

They now reside where the sea meets the stone, cooking on a camping hob, brushing their teeth beside the boiler, dreaming of floors that are not lino. I believe they are being tested — spiritually, emotionally, perhaps by the council.

A bottle of Tallow & Ash could offer what no extension lead or dust sheet can: a sense of ritual, of grounded luxury, of domestic peace amidst the chaos. Let it anoint them. Let it perfume the plywood.

They have earned it.

And Christmas is coming.

My best friend Anita, she’s a children’s epilepsy nurse and works so hard for her patients and is a real advocate for very complex children and their families. As well as this she has 3 children of her own and lives on a farm with her husband. They are busy on the farm and money is tight. Thry are struggling to buy Christmas presents. She works so hard and yet they struggle. She truly deserves a treat. Elen 🩷

I nominate my dear friends Connor and Kat — noble figures navigating the chaos of family life with Ru, Cass, and a third child currently preparing their descent from the cosmic womb. But this nomination comes not from sentiment alone — it comes from necessity.

The other day, in the thick steam of a Dorset sauna, Connor confessed a truth that chilled me more than the cold plunge ever could: he has never washed a pair of jeans. Not once. Denim worn like armour. Denim that may now be legally haunted.

For the sake of their growing household — and possibly national hygiene — I beg you: send this man the purifying powers of Tallow & Ash. Let it cleanse not just fabric, but legacy. Let the scent of redemption cling to his cuffs. Let this be the turning point.

I think this would be a lovely gift for my friend Claire. She’s just had triplets and as you can imagine, life’s a bit crazy at the moment. Her husband left as the babies don’t match their race, but that hasn’t stopped her from being mother of the year. Her only having one leg makes motherhood more challenging but she’s hoping along and doing her best. The least she can have is good smelling sheets. Thanks x
